- Oliech headed back to Qatar
Harambee Stars skipper Dennis Oliech is headed back to Qatar where he began his professional career a decade ago.
Sources told SuperSport.com that the players’ agents were in talks with an unnamed team in what is expected to be a big money move away from Auxerre who were relegated from French Ligue One.
Earlier in the month the player’s manager Nixon Onywanda had hinted to SuperSport.com that Oliech had received strong offers from France and the Gulf region but he had not made up his mind on where to move to.
"Oliech is in high level talks and might be moving back to Qatar where personal terms are being negotiated and they have to reach an agreement with his team Auxerre."
The striker has been with the national team for both World Cup qualifiers and the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers where they drew 0-0 with Malawi before succumbing to 1-0 losses to both Namibia and Togo.
Oliech turned professional in 2003 when he signed for Al Arabi in Qatar where he played until 2005 then moved to FC Nantes signing for them and left in 2007 when they were relegated.
He then joined Auxerre in 2007 but the side were also relegated after they finished bottom in the 2011/2012 season where he finished with eight goals to his credit.
